INTERNATIONAL: US Mint campaigns axed

WASHINGTON: The US Mint has indefinitely suspended comms contracts

with the private sector to accommodate shrinking budget projections.

Both Fleishman-Hillard and Hill & Knowlton have seen seven-figure

campaigns axed. Spokesman Matt Kilborne said the budget cut is due to

the recession. Last year approximately 27 billion coins were made.The

figure is set to shrink to 16 billion this year.
