PUBLIC SECT0R: Trust to promote energy-saving in hunt for agencies

The Energy Saving Trust has launched a hunt for agencies to support

its corporate, public affairs and local authority liaison work.

The quango, which is tasked with reducing CO2 emissions and promoting

energy efficiency, has confirmed that pitches will take place in March

and April for two separate briefs.

These are corporate and public affairs, and local authority and housing

association liaison.

The corporate and PA account is currently held by Hill & Knowlton.

Citigate Westminster handles the local authority account. Both are

understood to be repitching.

The successful agencies will be appointed on a three-year retained

basis. The deadline for agencies to take part in the pitch was this

Monday.

The trust, which uses Countrywide Porter Novelli as its retained

consumer agency, was set up following the Rio Earth environmental summit

in 1992.
