Polish oil giant PKN Orlen takes on Smithfield help

Polish oil refining giant PKN Orlen has turned to Smithfield

Financial for IR and financial PR support in the UK and overseas.

Smithfield replaces incumbent Financial Dynamics after a competitive

pitch.

Orlen, which is listed on the Warsaw and London Stock Exchanges and has

a market cap of £1.5bn, has tasked Smithfield with handling its

communications with international investor, analyst and financial media

audiences.

The remit is full service, covering strategic advice through to

campaigns and projects.

Smithfield research director Christopher Chew leads the brief alongside

IR director Gerard Wichers, supported by a seven-strong team.

The team, which is led out of London, reports to Orlen's IR head Dariusz

Grebosz.

Smithfield international MD Andrew Hey said: 'In central Europe there is

a lot of restructuring in the oil and gas sector. There are a number of

companies active in the market and there's work to do in differentiating

Orlen and communicating its strengths to investors.'
