MEDIA: Freeserve health channel editor to boost news offer

The newly appointed editor of Freeserve's health channel is to

develop the internet service provider's diet, nutrition and fitness

coverage.

Martha Roberts, formerly a health writer for The Sun, relaunches the

Diet and Nutrition page this week.

Roberts is responsible for increasing the news content on

freeserve.com's health channel. In addition, she will edit the health

pages on the ISP's wholly-owned women's portal, icircle.com.

Roberts said: 'Health copy tends to be slanted towards women. But with

UK men having consistently poorer health than women, I feel the

challenge is to make health something that both men and women want to

read about.'

She works with a producer and a team of freelances she used at The Sun,

where she concentrated on family health.

Roberts was commissioning editor at Woman's Realm before joining The

Sun.

Launched in September 1998, Freeserve has around 2.1 million registered

users and 4.3 million unique users.
