Partington takes Energis corporate comms position

FTSE 100 telecoms firm Energis has ended its three-month search for

a group corporate PR chief, taking on former Brunswick PRO Gavin

Partington.

Partington joins as director of corporate communications, a role created

last summer as part of a major PR review overseen by director of

strategy and marketing Christine Holgate. Partington heads a team of six

and reports to Holgate.

The former senior consultant with Brunswick - and ex-political editor at

GMTV - takes on a remit covering corporate PR, internal comms and

industry analyst relations.

As a group-wide role, Partington will oversee corporate communications

across the UK, The Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany.

Holgate, formerly MD of media relations and external communications at

JP Morgan Chase & Co, joined Energis last year in place of Geoffery

Cheetham, who retired.

Former head of marketing and communications Ross Sampson left last year

following Holgate's review, which saw his role axed and the creation of

two posts: director of corporate comms, now held by Partington, and

branding director, handed last year to Sandra Malone.
