Lloyds Pharmacy opts to review its media operations

One of the UK's largest pharmacy chains is reviewing its media

relations.

Lloyds Pharmacy, which operates 1,300 community pharmacies in the UK, is

'considering its options' for the first quarter of 2002, according to

the firm's marketing services manager Louise McIntyre.

The chain currently works with Birmingham-based Willoughby PR, an agency

that focuses on consumer work.

Agency founder Julia Willoughby declined to comment on any details of

the account, or the review.

Lloyds Pharmacy is a subsidiary of German pharmaceutical giant Gehe.

Gehe had a turnover of £9.5bn in 2000 and employs around 27,750

staff across Europe, the majority of them in Britain.
