Edelman PR Worldwide has recruited Cohn & Wolfe's Jill Rennie to
head its UK consumer marketing division.
Rennie has run C&W's consumer practice as executive director for the
past four years and has been with the agency for nine years.
She replaces Ash Coleman-Smith, who has stepped down as joint MD
alongside John Mahony, and head of consumer marketing following
Edelman's recent restructure (PRWeek, 28 September).
This restructure led to Mahony, to whom Rennie will report, becoming
sole CEO of Edelman's UK operation.
Coleman-Smith will leave Edelman at the end of January. He then wants to
work either in 'a managing director capacity at an agency' or 'for a
strong corporate brand.'
Rennie leaves C&W at the end of this month and is succeeded by associate
directors Brandon Stockwell and Anne Carroll, who will jointly run the
consumer division and both take the title of director.
C&W managing director Martin Ellis said: 'In the past we had always had
two people running the consumer side. Although we are sad to see Jill
go, it gave us a chance to re-organise.'
At Edelman Rennie will lead a team of 20 and work for clients including
Ericsson, BT, Birds Eye Walls and the World Gold Council.
Prior to C&W Rennie worked for Creative PR in Edinburgh and PR
Consultants Scotland, based in Glasgow.
