Life insurance giant Scottish Widows has taken on former Scottish
Provident PR chief Robert Greenshields to head its corporate comms
team.
Greenshields takes on responsibility for a team of ten, covering media
relations, corporate events, internal and external communications.
He replaces Alan Young, who left in October to join FTSE 100 firm
Scottish and Southern Energy as director of corporate communications
(PRWeek, 5 October).
The former Money Marketing journalist said he will be gearing the
group's communications towards upcoming changes in the financial
services industry, but is not planning any immediate internal or
external PR reviews.
'The key is the number of different audiences we have to keep in touch
with now, so the strategy will be to make sure we are listening to the
messages from those areas and ensure we are getting the right messages
across to them,' he said.
Greenshields, who now reports to Scottish Widows brand and network
development director David Graham, left Scottish Provident after the
group's takeover by Abbey National in August this year.
Abbey National life division PR manager Christine McAllister said the
role no longer exists.
