Matt Kelly, internet editor of The Mirror newspaper, has been
appointed acting features editor.
The post will last for the next five or six months while features editor
Tanith Carey is on maternity leave.
Mirror deputy editor Peter Willis confirmed: 'It will be day-to-day
running of features.'
The move will provide opportunities for PROs since Kelly is known to be
open to feature ideas in his new role.
In addition to the features brief, Kelly will remain responsible for the
'Kelly's i' daily column. His deputy on the column is Amy Vickers.
Kelly also oversees mirror. co.uk, the website that he launched in
January 2000, though its editor is Shiraz Lalani.
Kelly will not oversee the Tuesday and Saturday M magazine or weekly
sections such as Mirror Money, edited by John Husband, Health Zone by
Simone Cave and employment round-up Mirror Works by Tricia Phillips.
