Cruise liner giant Cunard has taken on internet PR support in the
form of Southampton-based agency Lawton eMarketing.
The one-year account sees the agency assume responsibility for the
running of the 160-year-old cruise firm's website as part of a
wide-ranging technology-based campaign.
The brief, which encompasses work on the cruise line's website,
advertising, and e-mail campaigns, is aimed at attracting more 'silver
surfers' to the luxury brand.
The agency will also be heavily involved in the promotion of the launch
of the Queen Mary 2, the world's largest passenger liner, due for
completion in 2003.
Lawton account executive Vicci Rainscourt heads the PR aspect of the
work, reporting to Cunard marketing director Stuart Perl.
Cunard was founded in 1839 to provide mail services to North America,
and owns prestigious liner the QE2.
