Top five professional services firm KPMG is pitching its UK PR
business following a group-wide communications review.
KPMG confirmed the account was up for grabs with a number of firms,
including Bell Pottinger, in the running. A decision is expected later
next month.
The news comes as KPMG announces the promotion of UK marketing chief
Nigel Mengham to head marcoms across EMEA. Mengham takes on the expanded
role as part of a group-wide comms refocus.
He said the group increasingly served global clients and needed to think
on a global and regional level: 'With corporate comms we intend to be
more consistent in regional messaging where before we had strong
national messaging.'
'In commercial comms, it is appropriate that we have high impact
messaging across the region,' he added.
Alongside Mengham, internal comms head Katharine White and UK corporate
comms head Gavin Houlgate have been promoted to handle their areas
across EMEA.
'We are looking for a UK agency whose remit includes European projects,'
he said.
