The first publication for freemasons, MQ Magazine, is to appear in
March 2002.
The 330,000-circulation title will be launched by MDA Publishing, the
editorial arm of Mike Dewar's agency MDA, which won the PR account for
the society earlier this year (PRWeek, 16 March).
The lure of an upmarket audience will attract advertisers and PROs to
the title, said publisher Paul Gorter.
He compared it to a quality customer magazine, covering the arts,
property, food and drink, books, fashion and sport.
'There will be in-depth profiles with various captains of industry,' he
said.
Cars, travel and luxury goods will also feature, 'reflecting the
incredibly high AB profile, which is 78 per cent of the membership; 91
per cent are ABC1', Gorter said.
MQ Magazine will be quarterly to start with, and could increase
frequency to monthly, he added.
The editor has yet to be announced.
