The organisation, which has 20 European members and 92 global
affiliates, said it also planned to bring in quality standard procedures
for new recruits, due to be announced at its members meeting this
The London-based group was also due to discuss how independent PR
consultancies were better placed in the current economic climate over
their larger rivals.
A Worldcom Europe spokesman said independent firms were run by owner
bosses with a stronger client/consultancy relationship, while large
agencies tend to cut back and reduce overheads quickly.
'Most of our members can maintain a strong team in difficult times and
keep a long-term view, so the independent sector is in a much stronger
position,' said the spokesman.
