NP has won a major role in the grudge match of the year - the
tussle for the Christmas number one single.
NP - formerly Northern Profile - is on the side of The Lampies in their
upcoming chart battle against sister BBC cartoon The Tweenies.
Seeking to emulate the success of Bob the Builder, which claimed top
spot last year, NP will run a campaign involving media relations with
the pop press and children's TV, personal appearances by The Lampies at
football matches and product placement.
Managing director Nick Brown, said: 'We will be saying that the show is
the number two cartoon on TV and has a good chance for the Christmas
number one. It is very Christmassy with lots of bells and whistles.'
Other singles in the running include those by teen band Steps and
actress Kate Winslet. Brown said the agency would also be seeking to
'piggy-back' on any stories run about them.
