MEDIA BRIEFS: BBC cuts five per cent of staff

BBC: The BBC has cut five per cent of its staff in the Factual and

Learning division. Most of the 129 jobs are to go in London

documentaries and arts shows, although Birmingham and Manchester are

also targeted. Science, natural history, history and business are not

affected.
