EMC hires Weber Group Europe for data storage job

Weber Group Europe has picked up the EMC PR account after pitching

against 25 tech PR agencies.

The global market leader in data storage began the second review of its

PR account in as many years, after splitting with Text 100 after just 18

months with the brief.

EMC marketing manager for UK and Ireland Nigel Ghent said: 'We had an

exhaustive credential showdown with the top 25 firms. However, we

decided Weber would win.'

Weber, a division of Weber Shandwick Worldwide, already has

three-and-a-half years data storage PR experience with Hitachi Data

Systems, which last week appointed Lighthouse PR.

The account team will be headed by deputy Weber Group MD Zoe Arden and

account director Jorge Alday.

Arden said: 'Our focus is on elevating their PR onto more of a business

level, making sure their position is exploited.'
