Carlsberg takes on Kazoo for PR at MTV Awards

Carlsberg has chosen Kazoo Communications to handle PR work around

its sponsorship of this week's MTV Europe Video Music Awards.

The Danish brewer is one of four title sponsors of the annual event,

alongside Rimmel London, Intel Processors and Sony Ericsson. This year's

ceremony was held in Frankfurt, Germany on Thursday.

Carlsberg has supported the event for the past five years, hosting the

pre-awards party and 'Best Fan' awards for three years, with model

Caprice presenting those awards this year.

The account is led by agency partners Kathryn Pringle, and Sue Cowley,

who was head of PR at MTV in the UK before leaving to set up Kazoo.

The agency is working on a pan-European brief to obtain coverage for the

brand, operating from Frankfurt and London in advance of and following

the event.

Kazoo also works with music and comedy TV station PlayUK (PRWeek, 31

August), the 'It's A Scream' brand of student-orientated pubs (PRWeek,

10 August) as part of its brief from leisure giant Six Continents, and

computer game manufacturer Activision (PRWeek, 6 July).
