Technology services firm Logica has handed Band & Brown
Communications a global corporate and strategic PR brief.
The FTSE 100 company hired Band & Brown (BB) after a four-way pitch to
support recently recruited global marketing media relations manager
Jennifer Peters.
Peters joined in April from the London office of US technology PR
consultancy Sterling Hager, which pulled out of the UK in February this
year after failing to meet earlier financial targets (PRWeek, 16
February).
BB reports to Peters, with director Cheryl Gale heading the account
supported by a three-strong team.
BB will work on a remit to provide media relations and corporate PR
support in the UK alongside more strategic-led advice on a global
scale.
'We're working on a brief to try and get the press and other target
audiences to understand all the different lines of business within
Logica, such as telecoms, energy and utilities,' said Gale.
'On a global scale, the work is much more strategic and we will be
helping them with best practice issues and giving advice to Logica's
marketing and PR people based internationally.'
Gale added that BB would run a series of monthly workshops with Logica's
communications staff worldwide in a bid to promote best practice
throughout the company's PR operations.
Logica, which employs more than 12,000 staff in 30 countries, also uses
The Maitland Consultancy for UK corporate and financial PR, following
the City PR firm's appointment in the summer (PRWeek, 8 June).
Founded in 1969, Logica provides services including management and IT
consultancy, systems integration and products support.
