Volunteering charity CSV has appointed Karin Hobbs as its director
of corporate affairs.
Her appointment follows a nine-month search, brought about by the
departure of Roger Mortlock from the charity in January.
He left to join the Royal Shakespeare Company as its first director of
press and public affairs.
Hobbs joins from Christian disabilities charity John Grooms, where she
was head of communications.
She had previously worked in PR and marketing at charities Crossroads
and The Winged Fellowship.
Hobbs heads a 13-strong team covering press, fundraising and campaigns
and reports to CSV executive director Elisabeth Hoodless, who has been
covering Hobbs's role in the interim.
One of Hobbs' main tasks is to carry through a boost in PR next year to
celebrate the charity's 40th anniversary.
Hobbs said: 'We are looking to increase both our profile and voluntary
income during the year.'
