Scottish Power's voice, data and internet services company Thus has
appointed telecoms specialist BLI to help it weather the economic
downturn.
The agency will handle trade and technical PR as well as seeking to
raise the company's profile on the national business pages. It will also
work on coverage of exhibitions and conferences.
Thus director of corporate communications Ian Hood said: 'This is a hard
period for the telecoms market. BLI's brief is to lift the profile of
Thus and maximise coverage.'
Agency MD Edward Lloyd said the firm would seek vertical markets in
which to raise the company's profile: 'The market is competitive at the
moment and companies are changing their offerings to fit in with the
economy.
'With the downturn we will be working hard to provide a cost effective
solution to their needs,' he added.
Hood said the contract of incumbent Lewis came to an end and he used the
opportunity to talk to other agencies.
Lloyd previously worked with Hood when the agency ran the trade and
technical PR remit for cable firm Telewest, from where Hood joined
Thus.
Thus offers high-speed internet services for corporates as well as the
Demon Internet domestic ISP service.
