Ministry magazine has made fashion editor Ben Cook redundant as
part of 16 job cuts across the Ministry of Sound group.
David Fowler, operations director for the group's media division, which
comprises the magazine, website and digital radio, said 20 editorial
staff remained.
Cook's remit will be taken up by Ministry editor Ollie Quain and a
freelance, Fowler said. Magazine staff have produced all online content
for the past year.
'We could not, realistically, have cut any further. We would have
affected our ability to get the product out. We are pretty streamlined,'
Fowler added.
There would be no more 'restructuring' in the short term, he
insisted.
'But it would be foolish to say it is not going to happen (in the
future). Given the current climate, it is the best thing for the
business in the long-term.'
Ministry of Sound has three divisions: media, corporate and recordings.
