SYDNEY: Technology firm Lewis PR is expanding further across the
globe with the launch of an Australian bureau in Sydney.
London-headquartered Lewis has recruited Edelman PR's former Australian
technology practice V-P David Bass to lead the office.
The operation, based in the Cremorne district, opens its doors with five
clients and will be used as a gateway to the Asia-Pacific region.
Lewis V-P of operations Ilona Hitel said the division will bring the
agency a step closer to its aims of a global presence.
Lewis also launched offices in Boston and Maastricht, Holland, last
year, bringing the agency's number of wholly-owned subsidiaries to
seven.
The Sydney launch comes just a week after the announcement Weber
Shandwick Worldwide is to close its Melbourne office and focus on its
Sydney operations (PRWeek, 26 October).
