Mark Bolland, deputy private secretary to Prince Charles, scooped
the PR Professional of the Year award at the 2001 PRWeek Awards this
week.
Bolland was commended for moving the subject of any potential marriage
to Camilla Parker-Bowles onto less negative ground, and improving
relations between the press and St James's Palace.
It is the 15th year PRWeek has celebrated industry best practice. This
year's awards attracted a record 741 entries in 30 categories.
Other winners included former Millennium Dome CEO P-Y Gerbeau, who won
Communicator of the Year for his work during ten months as Dome
boss.
Campaign of the Year went to the Red Consultancy's Campaign for More
Bank Holidays, for client Expedia.co.uk.
Consolidated Communications picked up Consultancy of the Year, with
Lewis PR and Lansons Communications commended. Safeway won In-house
Department of the Year.
Young Professional of the Year went to Rainier owner Steve Earl.
