The awards, hosted by actor James Nesbitt, saw John Lewis win the in-house team of the year award, while large consultancy of the year went to GolinHarris.

The awards ceremony saw over 100 consultancies, in-house teams and individuals competing for the awards in 32 categories.

Other big winners on the night included Third City, which won small consultancy of the year, and Cirkle, which won medium sized consultancy of the year.

Weber Shandwick was handed the gong for international consultancy of the year. PR personality of the year went to Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

PRCA director-general Francis Ingham said: ‘The quality of the award entries gets better every year, and what we saw last night was a testament to our industry’s remarkable ability to bring the most creative, innovative and progressive people and ideas together.

‘I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make the Awards happen – our sponsors, our judges, our entrants, and the PRCA team. We have set a very high bar for ourselves to reach in 2013, which I am sure we will surpass.’
