Two recent winners of awards merit a mention. Firstly, Edinburgh
and Glasgow-based Incepta branch Citigate Smarts has been named
professional services company of the year at last week's National
Business Awards of Scotland.
The panel of judges dubbed the agency a 'one-stop shop' for
communications needs (a phrase always likely to raise Diary's
heckles).
Secondly, Hull-based agency Corporate Communications won best campaign
at the Institute of Grocery Distribution's marketing awards, for a
campaign on behalf of client Marr Foods promoting the health benefits of
eating fish.
The campaign attracted the support of celebrities including John
Nettles, Floella Benjamin and Jeffrey Archer.
Archer, who is billed as 'a regular cod and chips man,' advises readers
of the campaign website: 'As long as you don't eat the chips you will
stay slim.'
Or better still, stick to porridge for a few years.
