BT's demerged and rebranded wireless arm mmO2 is conducting a
thorough PR agency review following last month's appointment of PR heads
Richard Poston and David Boyd.
A host of agencies could be affected in the external comms overhaul,
including Brunswick, Fishburn Hedges, Le Fevre and MacLaurin - a roster
inherited from the then BTWireless.
mmO2 spokesman Simon Gordon said a review is underway: 'Some agencies
will stay on the roster, but in the meantime it's business as usual.
We're not going to change agencies for the sake of it, it's a new
communications set-up and a new company, so a review makes sense.'
The group has also hired David Nicholas as head of media relations as
part of the comms team being set up under recently appointed director of
communications Richard Poston, formerly TI Group PR head.
Nicholas previously worked with Poston at TI Group as media relations
manager.
The new line-up also includes the promotion of Gordon to PR manager and
BT's Roma Thomas to head of internal communications alongside the
appointment of head of public affairs Richard Brown.
Brown joins in November. He was director of communications for Camelot
International which is not seeking to replace him.
