The airline has appointed Insight just three months after moving its corporate and consumer PR account from Bell Pottinger PR to Fleishman-Hillard.

The latest appointment comes as the air industry deals with an increasingly complex political landscape, with the consultation on the draft aviation policy framework under way, alongside the announcement of a transport select committee inquiry into aviation strategy.

Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin last month named Sir Howard Davies to lead a review of airport provision in the South East, while the Civil Aviation Bill is currently going through the House of Lords.

Insight MD John Lehal said: ‘Last month’s reshuffle brought aviation back to the fore of public debate and remains a topic of debate for the coalition partners.

‘With the twice delayed draft aviation policy framework out for consultation and the continuing rise in air passenger duty, this is a challenging time for the aviation sector.’

Insight’s appointment followed pitches overseen by Andrew Parker, senior vice-president for public, international, industry and environmental affairs, and Will Löfberg, senior manager public and environment affairs.
