Children's charity Contact a Family is to launch a PR campaign to
target families missing out on millions of pounds of Government
The charity estimates that as many as 250,000 families could be failing
to claim disability living allowance benefits.
This latest campaign, to launch next month, is part of a cranking up of
the charity's PR work this year.
Two months ago the charity appointed its first PR chief, Jill Harrison,
who has the title of director of external affairs.
Reporting to chief executive Francine Bates, Harrison heads a 15-strong
team and liaises with the charity's retained media relations agency,
Harrison said this latest initiative will target the mainstream national
'We need to communicate straight to families who care for children who
are disabled or have special needs that help is there,' she added.
