Sports media company Teamtalk Media Group has appointed its first
Sheona Southern, previously communications manager, has been promoted to
the newly created position on the company's operating board.
The move has been taken as Teamtalk attempts to alter perceptions of its
work in the City and in the trade press.
According to Teamtalk chairman and CEO Bill Wilson, the company's online
sports information service is well known but its other media activities
are less so.
These include running Asda FM, the retailing giant's in-store radio
station, following Teamtalk's acquisition in June of Hampson Radio,
which handles the service.
Teamtalk also produces sports content for more than 200 radio stations
Southern, who reports to Wilson, oversees work by Teamtalk's retained
corporate agency, WMC communications.
