There will be five new sections: tonight, the week ahead, tickets,

webcasts and video on demand, and reviews.

'We can build stories around those five things. They will be a mixture

of things happening uniquely to us and in the wider industry,' said Dean

James, meanfiddler. com chief operating officer.

Editorial will focus on 'anything related to live music or possibly

music in itself', he said.

'Every night of the week, something pretty major is going on here. We

would be mad if we didn't use that. We wanted to bring to the front

what's buried,' he added.

Moving into offline operations was also being considered, he said: 'If

we did that, like all the best internet ideas, the two would feed off

each other.'

Although there are no definite plans, a magazine was a 'possibility this

year', he confirmed.

At present, meanfiddler. com has one staff writer and a couple of

freelance contributors.

Mean Fiddler was founded in 1982 with the opening of a single music club

in London.

Since 1989 the group has organised the three-day Reading Festival, and

has branched into managing a variety of clubs and bars.
