Lightfoot ready to drive Ananova PR push in spring

Internet news service Ananova has appointed a press officer to

replace launch PRO Deborah Stevens.

Deborah Lightfoot takes over the position, arriving from Leeds-based

agency Sinclair Mason where she was an account manager for two-and-half


'The Ananova PR role has changed a great deal since the launch last

April,' said Lightfoot, who is marshalling a national marketing drive

for the spring.

'I intend to build on the huge amount of positive PR so far, and turn

the focus towards building a consumer brand that ensures users

understand and are aware of the depth of the service offered over and

beyond the virtual newscaster,' said Lightfoot, who will report to

Ananova commercial director Vivienne Adshead.

'Deborah's consumer background and creativity are ideal to deliver a

campaign that positions us as a brand leader in real-time news and

information delivery,' said Adshead.

Orange acquired Ananova last year for £95m.
