DIARY: Leicester and Boro - bad choice for GOAL banners

Sometimes the fates conspire against a product launch - as Image

Wizard PR has discovered.

Having taken on the agency to launch Fanbana - a hand-held plastic

device that unfurls to reveal a message before recoiling again for easy

storage - the product's manufacturer picked the opening day of the

Barclaycard Premiership season to display its wares.

Unfortunately, the two clubs chosen to lead the charge with branded

'GOAL' banners were Leicester City and Middlesbrough.

These two teams were the heaviest losers on the day, conceding nine

goals collectively and - bad news for banner fans - not managing a

single goal between them.

Fanbana had tasked former England international Chris Waddle with

finding clubs for the product. 'The clubs were selected quite far in

advance,' blasted an agency spokesperson, defensively - a trait

unfamiliar to the two teams concerned, it would seem.
