INTERNATONAL: WSW selected for six-figure Asian Volkswagen deal

SINGAPORE: Weber Shandwick Worldwide has won Volkswagen's

six-figure regional car brand PR account without a pitch.

The brief covers retained PR in Singapore and regional support in nine

Asian markets, working with VW's regional marketing team in


WSW managing director Andrew Pirie said: 'We won the business on an

uncontested basis after organising a regional media event in Singapore

for Volkswagen earlier this year.'

The brief covers only the VW brand, and does not include other brands in

the Volkswagen Group, which is the fourth-largest carmaker in the


WSW director Kai Tamin-Goh will lead the account team working with

Volkswagen regional PR manager Martina Schulz.

Pirie said: 'In US dollar terms, we are talking in excess of six figures

for retainer plus projects.'
