Boardroom role for Southern at Teamtalk Media

Sports media company Teamtalk Media Group has appointed its first

communications director.

Sheona Southern, previously communications manager, has been promoted to

the newly created position on the company's operating board.

The move has been taken as Teamtalk attempts to alter perceptions of its

work in the City and in the trade press.

According to Teamtalk chairman and CEO Bill Wilson, the company's online

sports information service is well known but its other media activities

are less so.

These include running Asda FM, the retailing giant's in-store radio

station, following Teamtalk's acquisition in June of Hampson Radio,

which handles the service.

Teamtalk also produces sports content for more than 200 radio stations

across Europe.

Southern, who reports to Wilson, oversees work by Teamtalk's retained

corporate agency, WMC communications.
