HAMBURG: The German arm of media and tech behemoth AOL Time Warner
has hired Marc-Sven Kopka as director of media relations.
The position at AOL Deutschland has been vacant since Frank Sarfield
left at the turn of the year.
Kopka joins from Axa Colonia Deutschland, where he had responsibility
for relations with the economic and business press.
He said his initial aim at AOL would be to reorganise the internal
structures of the 10-strong PR team.
'It is worth considering the idea of fixed contacts for different
subjects, to structure press work more efficiently,' he said.
Alongside product PR for AOL and linked brands such as CompuServe and
Netscape, corporate communications is at the centre of Kopka's
