Westminster City Council has recruited its first communications
development manager as part of a raft of new appointments.
Julia Corkey will head the newly recruited three-strong team to
co-ordinate the media evaluation, e-media and internal communications
work. Also joining are communications development officers, Marnie
Beckett and Jane Krivine.
The team was created following a communications review overseen by head
of communications Alex Aiken and consultancy TASC.
This review has also led to the recruitment of two press officers and
two community communications officers, to create a 14-strong
Corkey has already worked for the council as a consultant advising on
its Millennium celebrations and corporate issues.
Aiken said a separate communications development team was key to help
the department meet the modernisation demands of the Government.
