New Scott Partnership director

The Scott Partnership has appointed Mario Fante as director of client services and business development. Fante will drive the US arm of the global b2b PR and marketing agency. Fante was most recently corporate PR manager at PerkinElmer.

Janssen, the pharma firm, has created a messaging platform designed to help patients remember to take their medication, called Care4Today Mobile Adherence. The service sends reminders to take medication, renew prescriptions and visit healthcare providers. It works with smartphones including iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices.

The British Medical Association is urging the Government to not purely focus alcohol policy on 'binge drinking', but to address wider health issues associated with alcohol abuse. The comments come in response to the Health Committee's report on the Government's Alcohol Strategy for England.

The National Diet and Nutrition Survey has revealed only 31 per cent of people in the UK eat five portions of fruit and veg a day, despite Government campaigns on the issue since 2003.
