What is it good for?

Ultracomida is a Spanish artisan deli-restaurant located a stone's throw away from the promenade in Aberystwyth. It has an informal setting, with two large communal tables, and offers a diverse mix of tapas.

Signature dishes

The paella is a must, produced to Ultracomida's exclusive recipe. The restaurant's signature is mixing artisan ingredients together, such as the Pimientos del piquillo rellenos - piquillo peppers stuffed with seasonal Welsh minced lamb, topped with Manchego cheese bechamel.

Who's the boss?

The restaurant is the brainchild of husband and wife team Paul Grimwood (who grew up in Spain) and Shumana Palit.

Tips please

You can book the restaurant's communal tables for private dining and special events. We did so for our office Christmas party. Great food, lots of wine and not a turkey in sight.

What's the damage?

Two or three tapas dishes per person makes for a hearty lunch. Each dish averages about £4-5 each.
