Impetus Trust, a pioneer of venture philanthropy in the UK, has appointed Jenny North as its new director of policy and strategy. North will develop Impetus' advocacy and public policy strategies. North has led on policy issues within the voluntary sector for the past decade, most recently as head of public policy at Relate.

Honeywell has brought in APCO for the launch of a fire protection device.

The one-year brief will see the agency launch and promote the product in the UK, France, Germany and Scandinavia, to stakeholders and the media.

Chris Whitehouse, MD of The Whitehouse Consultancy, has slammed a Government decision to abandon a commitment to 12 weeks as the standard period for public consultations. The Cabinet Office announced departments will follow a range of timescales. Whitehouse called it 'a retrograde step that should alarm all those who seek to engage with the public policy formulation process'.

Bellenden has recruited Naomi Harris as an account director. She joins from the CBI, where as senior policy adviser in its Brussels office she was responsible for energy, climate change and environment. Most recently she designed and executed the business organisation's lobbying campaign on the Energy Efficiency Directive.
