The Government has urged agencies to get planning for the upcoming post-COI framework. In an email outlining the process for the procurement scheme, which will involve the first framework launching next month, it warned that 'timetables would be tight'.

Town hall guidance recommending against councils publishing their own magazines or newspapers more than four times a year looks set to be strengthened. Communities Secretary Eric Pickles is set to make the recommendations legally binding. He has called the publications 'town hall pravdas' that 'waste money' and 'undermine a free press democracy'.

The Science Museum Group has called in Neat PR to handle PR for its in-store and online retail offering after a pitch shoot-out. The brief, first reported by PRWeek on 4 May, will see the agency overseeing retail comms for the Science Museum, National Railway and National Media Museum, with a particular focus on the Christmas period.
