City & Corporate: Grayling creates senior-level crisis team

Grayling has created a top-level crisis and issues management team in the UK, to respond to the growing reputational and political risks business, firms and public figures are facing.

The ten-strong 'crisis & issues management board' will provide senior counsel to public and private sector clients facing crisis situations.

Mary Whenman, MD, corporate & financial, will lead the board, supported by a team of board-level colleagues from across Grayling's PR and PA units in the UK, including Victor Benady, MD, digital.

'When your business or brand has a problem, you want to know you have the best people, with live crisis experience and up-to-date contacts, working on your behalf,' Whenman explained.

'From emerging issues to helping in an emergency, we have a team of experts with decades of experience in reputation management, politics and public policy, journalism and digital, available 24/7.'

The agency has recently supported firms embroiled in High Court cases, facing disease outbreaks and undergoing redundancy and restructuring programmes. The business has also worked on crisis preparedness programmes for major international events, including Euro 2012 and London 2012.
