Pearse, who has been at New Media Age for the past 12 years, will join Bite as its head of innovation on 1 July.
He said: 'Communications is changing dramatically as a discipline, driven by digital media, and Bite is at the forefront of that change. Its senior staff and client roster make it the perfect next step after 15 years covering digital media marketing and technology as a journalist.'
During his time at New Media Age Pearse oversaw the title’s move to become a digital-only publication with paywall-protected content. At Bite, he will help clients understand and benefit from those changes.
