Currencies.co.uk has brought in the Chime-owned agency on a retained contract to manage its press office function and lead media and stakeholder relations. The agency will look to persuade businesses and consumers to use the bespoke currency exchange site to secure the best rates of exchange, rather than using their own bank.
Scott Learmouth, MD of Teamspirit Public Relations, commented: 'With the pound riding high, securing currency exchange at the right rate is an increasingly important investment decision. Currencies.co.uk has a compelling proposition that will strike a chord with consumer and business media.'
The site is the online presence of Foreign Currency Direct, founded in 2000 as a firm wholly focused on currency. It has annual turnover of about £500m and more than 40,000 accounts.
Stephen Hughes, director at Currencies.co.uk, said: 'At a time when an estimated 70 per cent of consumers are losing out on currency exchange by not shopping around for the best rates, we look forward to working with them to understand the benefits of using Currencies.co.uk.'
