Tata IT arm TCS puts Fleishman-Hillard brief up for grabs

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the global IT and business services firm, has launched a pitch process for its public affairs account.

The company, which is part of the Tata Group that also owns Jaguar Land Rover, currently uses Fleishman-Hillard, which is included in the pitch process. The process is understood to have been launched as part of a regular review of TCS' consultancies. The pure public affairs brief covers the UK.

TCS is India's top software services exporter and reported a 22.6 per cent rise in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended 31 March, becoming the first Indian IT company to cross the $10bn (£6.2bn) revenue mark.

The process is understood to be in its early stages and pitches are expected to take place in a couple of months.

F-H also handles TCS' global corporate reputation account, which is not up for repitch.

Previously, TCS has used Saffron Chase to deliver PR and public affairs for its UK public sector division.

Tata Group is a multinational conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai. It is one of the largest companies in India by market capitalisation and revenue.

The group works in the chemicals, consumer products, energy, engineering, information systems, materials and services sectors. It has operations in more than 80 countries.

The group also owns the Bombay Brasserie, an Indian restaurant in London.
