INTERNATIONAL: French govt and ministers reveal PR appointments

PARIS: The French government has made a raft of senior

communications hires.

The Ministry for Industry has handed Christophe Perrin the role of

communications director to replace Cyril Benoit. Perrin was formerly

communications chief for the city of Saint-Die-des-Vosges.

The State Secretary for Economic Solidarity Guy Hascoet has also named

Claire Marillier, former communications director for the city of Begles,

as communications adviser.

And Defence Minister Alain Richard has chosen Remi Feraud to head his

personal communications team. He replaces Regis Juanico and will work on

all Richard's communications issues. PR for the military is handled

separately by the Defence Information and Communication Delegation.

Feraud - a well-known image counsellor, who specialises in Socialist

candidates - will work on Richard's PR ahead of next year's national

elections, in which Richard is said to be planning to land a more senior
