Maitland Political has appointed Julie Harris, who leaves Interel after working there for just four months. Her role was director of the consumer and leisure division.
Before working at Interel, Harris worked at Fleishman-Hillard for more than a decade, where she was a director and partner. Harris joins Maitland Political later this month and will oversee new business development, reporting to Bell.
Bell told PRWeek: ‘She knows Brussels and Westminster – she’s a grown up and she knows what she’s doing. She also has good financial services experience, so she will fit very well with the team here.’
Bell’s division has now grown to 12 employees, which includes Peter Cuthbertson, who joined as a consultant last Monday from Campbell Gentry.
Cuthbertson is overseeing the agency’s Anglian, Allpay and CCCF accounts.
Bell, formerly Fleishman-Hillard EMEA president, was named executive chairman at Maitland Political in March.
He unexpectedly left Fleishman-Hillard in January last year after which he went through an extended period of gardening leave.
Maitland Political was launched in March 2011 after Maitland merged with Havas sister agency Euro RSCG Apex Communications.
