Boardman returns to M&C Saatchi to head PR division

M&C Saatchi - set up by the famed adland brothers when they sold

the original Saatchi & Saatchi agency - is to launch an as yet untitled

PR branch.

The firm has hired outgoing Ketchum Life MD Jane Boardman to head the

wholly-owned division, which will launch on 23 July.

It will focus on consumer PR in the early stages, before expanding into

corporate communications at a later date.

Initially, CEO Boardman will be the agency's sole member of staff, with

M&C joint CEO Nick Hurrell chairing the PR firm. The agency hopes to

have acquired a staff of ten to 15 by the end of its first year.

Boardman returns to the Saatchi fold after three years at Ketchum, where

she handled the merger with Lynne Franks successor firm Life PR. She was

involved in the creation of M&C Saatchi's sponsorship division during

her first stint at the agency.

Ketchum CEO John Higgins is to assume Boardman's role while the

management team reaches a decision on a long-term replacement.
