Public Sector: Promotion for court's Wilson

The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom has announced its new head of comms, as it focuses on improving awareness across the UK.

Ben Wilson has been promoted into the role, replacing Sian Lewis who is taking early retirement. Wilson has been deputy head of comms since September 2010.

Wilson said: 'As the only court that can broadcast, one of the key areas we will be focusing on is making more use of this opportunity. We also want to increase awareness of our function in other parts of the UK, particularly in Scotland and Northern Ireland.'

Wilson will lead his team in handling media relations, website and social media, educational outreach, visitor services and special events.

He joined following five years in media relations roles for the Archbishops' Council of the Church of England.
