PUBLIC SECTOR: Assembly consults for Welsh PR code

The National Assembly for Wales is this month consulting PROs over

the creation of a code of conduct. Currently, local government PROs

working in Wales are subject to the 1988 code, which the Department of

the Environment, Transport, and the Regions has updated for PROs working

in England. For the first time, Wales is to gain a separate code. All

CEOs of principal councils, as well as affiliated groups such as the

Welsh Local Government Association have now been consulted. The Assembly

has set a 25 June deadline for views.
