Trinity Mirror, which controls The Mirror and Sunday Mirror
newspapers, has promoted Nick Fullagar to the role of director of
corporate communications, following a restructure.
Previously head of corporate communications, Fullagar now takes on the
additional task of overseeing investor relations.
The move follows the departure of investor relations manager Diane Bate,
who has become an account manager with Portland, the agency set up
earlier this year by former BskyB PR head Tim Allan.
Fullagar heads a team of 27, which includes customer services and
reception staff as well as communications.
He reports to Philip Graf, Trinity Mirror's CEO, and finance director
Sarah Vaughan-Brown, previously PR manager, has been promoted to head of
PR as part of the shake-up. She now has greater responsibility for
Fullagar started working for the Mirror Group in 1976 as a journalist
and went on to set up and head the group's first in-house PR team.
He said: 'This new role emphasises the importance of a consistent
approach to group communications.'
Bate was previously the only member of the corporate communications team
working on investor relations.
Fullagar is taking on Bate's role in the interim but is looking to
recruit an additional PRO to handle investor relations.
