Trinity Mirror corp comms director post for Fullagar

Trinity Mirror, which controls The Mirror and Sunday Mirror

newspapers, has promoted Nick Fullagar to the role of director of

corporate communications, following a restructure.

Previously head of corporate communications, Fullagar now takes on the

additional task of overseeing investor relations.

The move follows the departure of investor relations manager Diane Bate,

who has become an account manager with Portland, the agency set up

earlier this year by former BskyB PR head Tim Allan.

Fullagar heads a team of 27, which includes customer services and

reception staff as well as communications.

He reports to Philip Graf, Trinity Mirror's CEO, and finance director

Margaret Ewing.

Sarah Vaughan-Brown, previously PR manager, has been promoted to head of

PR as part of the shake-up. She now has greater responsibility for

strategic PR.

Fullagar started working for the Mirror Group in 1976 as a journalist

and went on to set up and head the group's first in-house PR team.

He said: 'This new role emphasises the importance of a consistent

approach to group communications.'

Bate was previously the only member of the corporate communications team

working on investor relations.

Fullagar is taking on Bate's role in the interim but is looking to

recruit an additional PRO to handle investor relations.
